12/11/2025. The Cristóbal Blanca del Moral auditorium in the Parque de España in Fuengirola will host next Friday, December 19, starting at 7:30 p.m., the show ‘Las Carlotas cant a la Navidad’, as announced this morning by the Festival Councilor, Isabel Moreno, who has invited the people of Fuengirola to enjoy this musical event.
“Within the extensive live musical program that we have this Christmas, on this occasion we are going to have a very notable event in the Parque de España with Las Carlotas, who have performed on several occasions in our city but had never given a concert at Christmas,” explained Moreno, who has invited “all Fuengioleans and visitors to enjoy the show they have prepared for us. For this we are going to install 300 chairs in the Cristóbal Blanca del Moral auditorium in the Parque de España.”
The Carlotas
These two sisters from Sanlúcar de Barrameda are considered by many to be the most flamenco voices that the world of Sevillians has today. Their stage name of Las Carlotas comes from a family inheritance: their great-grandmother worked in the palace house of the Counts of Orellana and, when she became pregnant, Countess Carlota de Orellana wanted to sponsor the child who was going to be born, giving him her own name if it was a girl, as it was. It was from then on that from generation to generation this family was known by the nickname Carlotas family, hence these two sisters chose the stage name of Las Carlotas.
Before publishing their first album, they sang at parties, meetings and of course at El Rocío, where in the light of the candle, they broke their throats singing sevillanas and fandangos that spoke of Blanca Paloma. Many things have been said about Las Carlotas, but they are left with a phrase that was said in Barcelona, in a presentation and that was later published in a book where the best Sevillian groups were collected.
