Fuengirola revalidates the Q flag for Tourist Quality of the Marina for its excellence in management and services
The distinction certifies compliance with the most demanding standards in quality, safety, accessibility, sustainability and user service, consolidating these facilities as a nautical and tourist reference in Andalusia.
07/29/2026.- This morning, the Fuengirola City Council held the raising ceremony of the Q flag for Tourist Quality in the Marina, after these facilities have revalidated this distinction awarded by the Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality and Sustainability (ICTES) for the 2026 season. The event was chaired by the Councilor for Beaches and municipal head of Ports, José Sánchez, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor Rodrigo Romero as well as the director of port facilities, Antonio Sánchez.
The renewal of this certification certifies that the Fuengirola Marina continues to meet the most demanding standards in terms of quality, safety, maintenance, customer service, accessibility, environmental protection and continuous improvement, after successfully passing the corresponding external audits based on the UNE-ISO standards applicable to marinas. 
During his speech, José Sánchez highlighted that “the revalidation of this flag is a recognition of the work, effort and daily dedication of all the professionals who make it possible for our Marina to maintain high levels of excellence. Behind this distinction there is a permanent commitment to continuous improvement and to providing the best possible service to neighbors, visitors and users.”
The councilor has also pointed out that “maintaining a certification of these characteristics is not easy. It requires involvement, professionalism and a constant evaluation of all processes. Therefore, this recognition shows that in Fuengirola we continue working to offer modern, safe, accessible and sustainable facilities, in line with the quality that characterizes our tourist destination.”
For his part, Rodrigo Romero has stressed that “quality is one of the pillars on which municipal management is based. Each distinction that Fuengirola achieves or revalidates is the result of a determined commitment to excellence and the improvement of public services. In this case, it also contributes to reinforcing the prestige of the Marina and its positioning as one of the main nautical-sports infrastructures in Andalusia.”
The Q for Tourism Quality is one of the main national distinctions in terms of tourism excellence and guarantees that certified facilities offer a service in accordance with rigorous quality criteria, efficient management, safety, accessibility and respect for the environment. Its concession and renewal is carried out after passing demanding independent audits that verify compliance with all these requirements.
With this new revalidation, the Fuengirola Marina reaffirms its commitment to excellence in management, the satisfaction of its users and the continuous improvement of its services. At the same time, this recognition is added to other quality and sustainability badges obtained by the municipality, strengthening the image of Fuengirola as a reference tourist destination that is committed to innovation, professionalism and excellence in the management of its infrastructure.
