07/24/26.- The Councilor for Culture of the Fuengirola City Council, Rodrigo Romero, today presented the performance ‘Raíces del Sur’, which will be offered by the city’s Municipal Dance Group next Thursday, July 30, at 9:00 p.m., in the Parque de España, with free access.
During the presentation, Romero highlighted that the City Council continues to promote quality cultural programming in this emblematic space of the city. “We continue to offer performances in the Parque de España with interesting and free proposals so that residents and visitors can enjoy outdoor culture during the summer. On this occasion we have a show that highlights our roots and our traditions through music and dance,” he noted.
The councilor also wanted to highlight the trajectory of the Fuengirola Municipal Dance Group, which this year once again demonstrates its commitment to the dissemination of Andalusian folklore. “We are talking about a group with more than six decades of history that has done extraordinary work to keep our traditions alive and carry the name of Fuengirola throughout the world. It is a real source of pride for our city to have a group that has known how to preserve and transmit our cultural heritage from generation to generation,” he stated.
For her part, the representative of the Fuengirola Municipal Dance Group, Julia Palacios, has invited all Fuengirola residents and visitors to attend this show. “We want to encourage everyone to join us in a very special performance in which we will tour Andalusia through its traditional dances, showing the richness and diversity of the folklore of each of its provinces. It will be a magnificent opportunity to enjoy our culture and share with the public the work that we have prepared with so much enthusiasm,” he explained.
Before concluding, Palacios pointed out that “this performance will also be a live rehearsal before our participation in the contest to be held in Greece.”
