The Municipal Music Band of Fuengirola will offer a concert dedicated to military music on July 28
The recital, with free access in the Parque de España, will begin at 9:30 p.m. under the direction of Alfredo Alarcón Campoy and will include a repertoire with some of the most emblematic military marches in history

The Councilor for Culture of the Fuengirola City Council, Rodrigo Romero, today presented the next concert of the Fuengirola Municipal Music Band, which will take place on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 9:30 p.m., in the Parque de España. The performance, with free admission, will be dedicated to music of a military nature and will bring together a varied program with some of the most representative compositions of this genre.
Under the direction of Alfredo Alarcón Campoy and with the participation of the concert clarinet María Teresa Padilla Rodríguez, the group will offer a concert divided into two parts in which the public will be able to enjoy historical marches and works of recognized international prestige, as indicated by the mayor.
The first part will include interpretations of El Abanico, by Alfredo Javaloyes López; Florentiner Mars, by Julius Fučík; Under the Double Eagle, by Josef Franz Wagner; King Cotton, by John Philip Sousa; Colonel Bogey March, popularized by the soundtrack of Kenneth J. Alford’s The Bridge on the River Kwai; and The Site of Zaragoza, by Cristóbal Oudrid Segura.
After the break, the Municipal Band will perform Semper Fidelis, by John Philip Sousa; Arnhem, by Albert E. Kelly; Winning Barlovento, by Ramón Sáenz from Adana; the medley On the Move to the Movies, with well-known military-themed soundtracks, arranged by Larry Clark; 1941, by John Williams; and will conclude with La Flagerita, by Francisco Alonso López.
During the press conference the councilor highlighted the importance of this type of initiatives within the municipality’s cultural programming. “In Fuengirola we work to offer a wide, varied and quality cultural program throughout the year, which is especially intensified during the summer months, when our city receives more visitors. Our goal is that anyone, regardless of their age or tastes, always finds a cultural or leisure activity adapted to their preferences.”
Romero has also highlighted the artistic level of the Municipal Music Band and has encouraged neighbors and tourists to attend the concert.
