7/17/2026 -The associations of Relatives of Alzheimer’s Patients (AFA) and the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) will once again manage the solidarity bars of the Marenostrum Fuengirola Summer Cinema this summer. This was announced today by the Councilor for Beaches, José Sánchez, accompanied by the provincial president of the AECC, Juan Carlos Martín, and the member of AFA, Ana Aragonés, who have presented a new edition of this consolidated initiative, promoted thanks to the collaboration agreement between the Fuengirola City Council and the Miramar Shopping Center.
The series, free of charge and aimed at all audiences, will hold four screenings during the months of July and August. As in previous editions, the billboard has been chosen by the citizens themselves through a vote carried out on the Miramar Shopping Park Facebook page.
The programming will begin on Monday, July 21 with the screening of How to Train Your Dragon. The next day, Tuesday, July 22, it will be the turn of Sonic 3. After a brief hiatus, the cinema will return on Monday, August 11 with The Bad Guys 2 and will conclude on Tuesday, August 12 with Wicked.
«One more year we are once again offering a free activity, designed to be enjoyed with the family during summer nights, in a privileged environment such as Marenostrum Fuengirola. In addition, it will have an important solidarity component thanks to the involvement of AFA and AECC, which will manage the bars where you can buy sandwiches, drinks, popcorn, hot dogs, sweets and other products. We invite all attendees to collaborate with both entities, which carry out extraordinary work in our city,” highlighted José Sánchez.
The mayor also recalled that the venue will be adapted so that attendees can enjoy the screening in total comfort. “Spaces will be made available for those who prefer to come with their towel or beach chairs, in addition to the Marenostrum stands for those who choose that alternative,” he noted.
For her part, Ana Aragonés thanked the City Council for the support it provides to AFA each year. «We want to thank the Fuengirola City Council and the mayor for having us again. We encourage all residents and visitors to enjoy the Summer Cinema and collaborate with our solidarity bars, where they will find food and drinks at very affordable prices. Every drink contributes to maintaining the services we provide to people with Alzheimer’s and their families,” he stated.
Along the same lines, Juan Carlos Martín has expressed the gratitude of the Spanish Association Against Cancer for participating again in this initiative. «It is a pride to be part, for another year, of an activity so loved by families. Thank you to the City Council for continuing to trust in our association and allowing us to raise funds that we use entirely to maintain the free care, support and research programs for the benefit of cancer patients and their families,” he concluded.
