They are equipped with all the elements necessary to carry out the agents’ tasks, and in addition, they operate with cleaner and more sustainable energy.
7/9/2026 – The Fuengirola Local Police has incorporated five hybrid SUVs into its fleet of patrol vehicles, which have been presented today by Mayor Ana Mula, together with the Councilor for Citizen Security, José Luis Ponce, and the Chief Mayor of the Municipal Security Corps, Sergio Luna.
“Fuengirola is a safe city for two reasons: because of the responsibility of its neighbors and because we have an excellent Local Police and a great Fire Department coordinated in an extraordinary way with the National Police. But for them to be able to carry out their work in the best conditions, they need adequate means and according to their needs and those of our city. For this reason, we are constantly investing in improving the material resources that our agents have. Today we add five new patrol cars, which abound in the line of positioning us as a city benchmark. intelligent,” explained the councilor.

In this way, the new acquisitions are five Renault Austral, which combines the gasoline and electric motor, so that the consumption of these cars will achieve economic savings for the municipal coffers and less emissions of polluting gases into the atmosphere.
The vehicles are equipped with a geolocation system, detainee kit, first aid, rescue, defibrillator, security elements and personal protection for the agents themselves. Likewise, they have a front and rear camera, as well as in the detainee area, with an independent screen through which the recording is viewed at all times, all under data protection regulations.
All have been acquired through renting from Banco Santander SA for a total amount of 419,148.84 euros.
“Therefore, we considerably improved the performance of our fleet, more than meeting all the needs of police work for a better citizen service. Our agents will continue to have increasingly better means to provide an adequate service to Fuengirola residents and visitors,” concluded Ana Mula.
