Fuengirola will have a 24-hour Emergency Center after the City Council transfers a municipal plot to the Junta de Andalucía
The land, located on Santa Amalia Avenue, has just over 1,000 square meters of surface. The Costa del Sol Health District already has a Functional Plan for this infrastructure, and after signing the agreement with the City Council, it will be able to start the bidding for the project and the work.
4/29/2026 – Fuengirola will have a 24-Hour Emergency Center after the City Council transfers a municipal plot to the Junta de Andalucía. This was approved by the Plenary Session, unanimously by all its members, during the ordinary session held today.
The land in question is located on Santa Amalia Avenue, between the school that bears the same name and the mosque, and has a total area of 1,101.73 square meters. After the approval of this agreement, the next step will be the signing of the agreement with the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) so that this organization can begin the bidding process for drafting the project and the work.
In this regard, Mayor Ana Mula has advanced, during today’s plenary session, that the Costa del Sol Health District already has a Functional Plan drawn up and updated for this infrastructure.
The procedure carried out today means the materialization of the first step of the agreement reached, on February 26, in a meeting held between the councilor and the Minister of Health, Antonio Sanz, in the Parliament of Andalusia, for the creation of this health infrastructure.
This consisted, precisely, that the City Council would give up the aforementioned plot and that the Junta de Andalucía would take charge of its construction to offer the Fuengirola residents a point to attend to medical emergencies. A service that the city currently lacks.
