The Fuengirola City Council renews the Miramar Aromatic Park
The restrictions imposed due to the drought two years ago forced the irrigation of green areas to be reduced and eliminated, losing a good part of their vegetation. It is an area of more than 1,400 square meters of green area that will contain aromatic species such as lavender, thyme or sage, among others.
4/16/2026 – Fuengirola City Council is renovating the Aromatic Park in the Miramar area. Mayor Ana Mula, together with the Councilor for Urban Ecology, José Sánchez, has visited the repopulation work of this green space, which has more than 2,000 square meters and about 1,400 of them destined for different plant species.

“We are acting to beautify every corner of our city. Last week, in Los Pacos, this week, in the Parque de Los Aromas, in Miramar. This is one of our most unique green spaces. And we are working to revitalize it and offer an even more spectacular image,” explained the councilor.
In this way, the operators of the Ambitec company are working on planting a new grass area of 750 square meters. Likewise, they are creating three eight-square-meter planters that will contain colorful aromatic plants such as santolinas, sage, myrtle, thyme and lavender.
Likewise, the action includes the installation of two ‘insect hotels’, which are structures created to provide shelter, reproduction areas and protection to various species of insects beneficial for the proliferation of more plant species.
In this same sense, another of the novelties that this intervention contemplates is the plantation of aclepias, which is a species that serves as a host for the monarch butterfly. The objective is to promote their presence and increase the biodiversity of this green environment.
“In this way, we once again give life and show off this space in Miramar, which is possibly the neighborhood with the most green areas,” Ana Mula concluded.
