The Fuengirola City Council activates a new free Training Plan for the unemployed with 49 courses
The training proposals range from construction or hospitality trades to new job demands, such as mobile device repair. Those interested can now register for the first four options on the website fuengirola.portalemp.com or in the Fuengirola + Employment app
10/23/2025 – Fuengirola City Council has activated a new free Municipal Training Plan for unemployed people in the city with a total of 49 courses and workshops. Mayor Ana Mula, together with the Councilor for Training and Employment, Isaac Vargas, has presented this programming, which aims to offer unemployed residents new tools and resources that allow them to improve their training when looking for a job.
“I have always said that, although it is not a responsibility of the city councils, offering employment opportunities for the people of Fuengirola is one of my main objectives as mayor. We are living one of the best economic moments in our history, with unemployment figures that are around 5% in proportion to the population. Below 5,000 unemployed people. But we want to continue lowering those figures. We are not satisfied. We think we can do even more. That is why we have been working for years. developing different Training Plans to improve the employability of our neighbors. A cost that we all assume but that later reverts to a population that is much more prepared to face the labor challenges of the present and the future,” the councilor expressed.
In this way, the aforementioned Plan has a total of 49 courses or workshops aimed at unemployed people in the city. Registration for each and every one of them is free and can be formalized, once each of them is called, on the website www.fuengirola.portalem.com or in the Fuengirola + Employment app. These training proposals are divided into seven thematic blocks: Computer Science, New Technologies, Image, Sound and Communications; Languages and Culture; – Hospitality, Construction and Services; Equality and personal well-being; – Urban Culture and Sports; as well as Arts and Crafts.

In this sense, Mula has announced that this week registration will open for the first four courses: Basic restaurant and bar operations, Basic kitchen operations, Initial office automation and Artificial intelligence. “Stay attentive because we are finalizing the processing of the other actions that make up this Training macroplan. It will be at these points where you will find the information, but also, of course, in the offices of the Department, in the Mayor’s Office of Los Boliches. We continue working together so that all Fuengirola residents enjoy the maximum possible opportunities when it comes to accessing the labor market,” Mula concluded.
