Fuengirola brings together the world’s figure skating elite in a high-level international seminar that will take place in the Juanito pavilion
A total of 130 top-level skaters will participate in this international seminar, which will be held from December 27 to 29. The event will feature as speakers great figures of world figure skating, coordinated by the national coach, Angélica Morales.
12/19/2025 – Fuengirola will become the international epicenter of figure skating at the end of December with the celebration of a technical training seminar at the highest level, which will take place in the Juan Gómez ‘Juanito’ pavilion from December 27 to 29. This was announced this morning by the Sports Councilor, Julio Rodríguez, along with the representatives of the El Tejar Skating Club, the 2021 world champion, Natalia Baldizzone, and the national coach, Angélica Morales.
“Fuengirola is a reference in skating worldwide, from the youth system to the highest senior level, thanks to the magnificent work that the El Tejar Skating Club has been doing for decades, as well as the great efforts and historic results achieved by our main ambassador, Natalia Baldizzone, as well as Angélica Morales, who is a national coach and who has had the happy idea of bringing together more than 130 top-level skaters in our city, who will come from Mexico, Ukraine, Italy and from many parts of Spain, to be with the best world elite technicians and judges.”
For her part, Natalia Baldizzone explained that it is “a macro technicalization of a global nature, in which great names in figure skating will participate who, although they may be less known to the general public, enjoy enormous prestige within our sport.” Among them he has mentioned Andrea Bassi, “one of the best choreographers in the world”; Lorenza Residori, “absolute reference as a coach”; Chiara Lodi, direct collaborator of Residori; Fabio Grossi, world champion in pairs dance in 1991; and Sara Salleti, coach of Andrea Bassi. “And, of course, Angélica Morales, national coach and one of the best technicians in her specialty,” he added.
Baldizzone has especially highlighted the presence of Nicola Genchi, president of World Skate, “who will visit Spain for the first time and will do so in Fuengirola, considered the cradle of figure skating and the Solo Dance modality in our country.” Genchi will be in charge of explaining the modifications to the regulations planned for the 2026 season.
To close the presentation, Angélica Morales detailed that “Every year World Skate holds an international seminar in which the regulations for the following season are announced. For the last four years it has been held in Italy and this year it has been moved to South America, specifically to Argentina, coinciding with the Immaculate Bridge. Given the high cost of travel for European skaters, we proposed the possibility of organizing it also in Fuengirola and, after many efforts, we have managed to bring the same seminar, with the same speakers, to the Juanito pavilion,” he explained.
