6/23/2026 – Fuengirola will once again become a benchmark for international sport this summer with the celebration of the II Spain Master Volley Tournament ‘Costa del Sol 2026’, which will bring together from July 1 to 5 some of the best master teams in the world in an event that will combine high-level competition, tourism promotion and social commitment. The tournament will be held in two top-level venues: the Juan Gómez “Juanito” Pavilion, headquarters of the volleyball competitions, and the Higuerón Resort beach volleyball facilities, where this modality will take place.

The official presentation of the event included the participation of the Sports Councilor of the Fuengirola City Council, Julio Rodríguez; Andrés Muñoz, representing Master Volley Spain; Diego Ramírez, sports director of the beach volleyball competition through Dteam Academy; and Remedios Guillén, representative of the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer’s Patients (AFA).
“We are very satisfied that Fuengirola will host the International Master Volleyball Tournament for the first time, a top-level competition that will bring together ten international teams and outstanding volleyball and beach volleyball teams from different parts of Spain. An event that will reinforce the international projection of our city as a venue for major events, while generating tourist and economic activity. In addition, this tournament incorporates an important solidarity aspect, collaborating with an entity as committed to our city as AFA,” he stated. Julio Rodríguez.
Organized by Master Volley Spain with the collaboration of the Fuengirola City Council, through its Department of Sports, the championship will bring together more than ten international teams from the men’s and women’s +45 and +55 year categories, consolidating itself as one of the most outstanding master volleyball competitions on the world stage.
Among the participating teams are teams from countries such as the United States, Brazil, Poland, Germany, Slovenia, Ukraine and Bosnia-Herzegovina, in addition to the Spanish teams, who will compete in front of their public in an event with great international projection.
The organization anticipates the participation of more than 170 athletes, who will be joined by technicians, companions and fans, a number that will continue to increase as the registration process progresses.
Sport, tourism and solidarity
One of the most notable aspects of this second edition will be its marked solidarity nature. The tournament will actively collaborate with the Association of Relatives of Alzheimer’s Patients (AFA), helping to make visible the important work carried out by the entity in support of people affected by this disease and their families.
In this way, the competition transcends the strictly sporting field to become a tool for social awareness, promoting values such as solidarity, inclusion and commitment to social causes.
World volleyball legends
The tournament will also have the presence of recognized historical figures of national and international volleyball who continue to spread the values of this sport through the master competition.
Among them are such emblematic names as Rafa Pascual, Juan Carlos Robles, Ángel Alonso and José Luis Moltó, leaders of Spanish volleyball and members of Master Volley Spain, who continue to contribute to the promotion and growth of this discipline inside and outside our borders.
Important impact for the city
The celebration of this championship will have a notable sporting, tourist and economic impact for Fuengirola, thanks to the arrival of participants and visitors from different countries, reinforcing the image of the city as a reference destination for the organization of international sporting events.
For five days, Fuengirola will become a meeting point for world volleyball, hosting a unique experience that will combine top-level competition, cultural exchange and solidarity in a privileged environment like the Costa del Sol.
