6/15/2026 -Fuengirola City Council has reinforced the security of its beaches with the incorporation of fourteen security guards. This device, directly coordinated with the Local Police, has the mission of ensuring correct compliance with municipal ordinances on the coast until September 15. Thus, before starting their first day of work this morning, in the Plenary Hall of the Consistory, they took office in the presence of the mayor Ana Mula, the councilor for Beaches, José Sánchez, the Councilor for Citizen Security, José Luis Ponce, the Councilor for Personnel, María Hernández, and the chief mayor of the local Security Corps, Sergio Luna.

“Fuengirola is a safe and welcoming city, which offers all the services and benefits to residents and tourists so that their well-being is maximum on its beaches,” said Mula during the inauguration ceremony, highlighting that “we are prepared to welcome tourists with the unbeatable standards and levels of quality, as in previous years, but always trying to make it, at least, a little better than in previous seasons.”

The device is in operation from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and work is carried out daily, from Monday to Sunday. Its objective is to ensure compliance with beach ordinances, monitor the activities carried out on the coast, address any risk situation, demand for information or any other eventuality, as well as control concessions and administrative authorizations on the beaches.

Fuengirola has been distinguished once again for the excellence of its beaches with Blue Flags along its entire coastline. In addition, last summer it received a special mention for the best rescue and first aid and security device in our country. The entity that manages these distinctions in Spain, the Environmental and Consumer Education Association (ADEAC), recently awarded the awards to the four beaches in the municipality: El Castillo, Fuengirola, Los Boliches-Las Gaviotas and Carvajal, highlighting aspects such as the good condition of the sandy beaches, the services provided there, accessibility, environmental management, as well as the properties of the waters of the entire Fuengirola coast. It is the seventh year that Fuengirola’s beaches have received this distinction on 100% of its coast and the eleventh time that such a circumstance has occurred.

In terms of security, Fuengirola’s beaches have a large human device made up of 56 daily lifeguards, these fourteen municipal security guards, four drone operators, as well as Local Police agents assigned to the Extraordinary Summer Security Service.
