6/15/2026 – Fuengirola will once again be a national meeting point with the XXXII Modeling Contest on June 20 and 21, with different activities, such as talks, workshops or live demonstrations, among others. This was announced by the Councilor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, who explained that this time, the special theme of the contest will be the world of cinema.
“This weekend we have one of the great moments that are celebrated in Fuengirola and it is also one of the longest-running events of those that take place in our city, because we are talking about the thirty-second edition of the Fuengirola un sol de ciudad Modeling Contest,” explained Romero, pointing out that “it is an activity that continues to grow more and more and that attracts all fans of this hobby nationwide to our city.”
In addition to the miniatures on display, attendees will be able to enjoy different activities during those days, such as workshops, live assembly demonstrations, painting of pieces on different themes, talks and conferences, and for this there will be “some of the best modellers on the national scene and of international prestige.”
Romero has invited all Fuengirola residents to stop by the Peace Palace on June 20 and 21, because “modelling is a healthy, entertaining and culturally relevant hobby, which requires patience, creativity and a level of detail that requires pause and tranquility and is alien to the rush and stress that characterize today’s society. That is why I think it is a hobby that is worth discovering.”
Apart from the competitive section, the contest includes a large number of activities related to modeling and miniaturism: conferences, workshops, children’s modeling courses, exhibitions by great international masters, a trade fair and endless activities that every June make Fuengirola become the national capital of modeling and miniaturism.
Entry to the Peace Palace will be free of charge, while visiting hours will be from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00 on Saturday, June 20; and from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday the 22nd. The awards ceremony will be on Sunday starting at 1:00 p.m. For more information and to register for the workshops, interested parties should go to the website of the Fuengirola Miniatures association. www.afminiaturas.es.
