5/6/2026 – The Youth Area of the Fuengirola City Council has scheduled a trip to the Camino de Santiago, which will take place from September 17 to 23 and for which there are still some places available. This was announced by the councilor of the area, Isaac Vargas, who highlighted that this initiative seeks to offer participants “a unique experience of coexistence, nature and personal improvement.”

The trip will have a price of 700 euros, “with payment facilities so that participants can pay for the trip little by little,” explained Vargas, who pointed out that, although it is a Youth Area activity, there is no age limit to participate.

Pre-registrations can be made through the Fuengirola City Council Citizen Card and “registrations will be confirmed once the first payment is made.”

The activity will consist of completing the last stages of the French Way, one of the most popular routes of the Camino de Santiago, starting from Sarria and ending in Santiago de Compostela, which will allow participants to complete the distance necessary to obtain the Compostela.

During the route there will be five stages: Stage 1: Sarria – Portomarín (22.2 km); Stage 2: Portomarín – Palas de Rei (24.8 km); Stage 3: Palas de Rei – Arzúa (28 km); Stage 4: Arzúa – O Pedrouzo (22.6 km); and Stage 5: O Pedrouzo – Santiago de Compostela (16.1 km).

The trip includes round-trip flights, airport transfers, luggage transportation between stages, accommodation with breakfast in hotels, guesthouses or rural houses (in double rooms with private bathroom), local guide in Santiago de Compostela on the last day and travel insurance. In addition, participants will receive the pilgrim’s credential and the scallop, traditional symbols of the Camino.

The Department of Youth encourages those interested to participate in this initiative and take advantage of the opportunity to live an unforgettable experience traveling one of the most emblematic cultural and spiritual itineraries in Europe.
