The City Council awards the construction of the Los Boliches Megaparking, the New Santa Fe Stadium and the New Fuengirola Court

The Temporary Business Union that will execute this contract has proposed the creation of 1,070 parking spaces distributed over three underground floors. The proposal proposes increasing the surface area of the current venue to 14,500 square meters, more sports facilities, as well as the construction of a new attached judicial headquarters.

4/6/2026 – The Fuengirola City Council has awarded the construction of the Los Boliches Megaparking, the New Santa Fe Stadium and the New Fuengirola Court. This action, the most ambitious from an economic point of view in the history of the city, will offer 1,070 parking spaces distributed over three underground floors, increasing the surface area of the current facility to 14,500 square meters, the creation of more sports spaces, as well as the construction of a new judicial headquarters.

“In the last elections I acquired several important commitments with the people of Fuengirola, and especially with the bolicheros: Create parking lots. What we call the Municipal Parking Plan. Completely renew the Santa Fe-Antonio Basilio Stadium. And give a definitive solution to the precarious and obsolete courts that we have in our city. All of this has long since ceased to be a promise, with the bidding for an important contract that would mean the planning and construction of all this in the same space. It is already beginning to be a reality with the final award of the same, which happened just a few days ago. That is, three large projects in Los Boliches for all of Fuengirola and to respond to three imperative needs of our city,” explained Mayor Ana Mula accompanied by the deputy mayor of the neighborhood, Rosa Ana Bravo, and the councilors of Strategic Infrastructures and Sports, Rocío Arriaga and Julio Rodríguez, respectively.

The specifications and technical documents for this intervention estimated the tender budget at 50,820,000 euros – 1,815,000 euros for the drafting of the project and 49,005,000 euros for the fully municipal financing work – and the initial execution period at 36 months – four months for the preparation of the technical document and 32 months to demolish the current sports complex and erect the new one. However, the offer, whose Temporary Business Union was the one made up of the companies Vialterra Infraestructuras SA-Urbasur Activities y Servicios SL, has reduced the amount to 48,766,872 euros and the execution time to three months (for drafting the project) and 29 (in the case of the work).

The objective of the action is to increase the floor area by just over 1,000 square meters (from the current little more than 13,000 to the nearly 14,500 established in the specifications), incorporating part of Francisco Rivera ‘Paquirri’ street, attached to the sports equipment itself.

Under it, on three underground floors, more than a thousand parking spaces will be created. More specifically, 1,070, responding to the Municipal Parking Plan launched by the Government team during the current mandate and which already adds more than 1,200 spaces in successive reorganization and addition actions.

Likewise, the specifications contemplate the creation of a new soccer field; a renovated covered hockey pavilion, another for volleyball and a third multifunctional one to develop another series of sports practices, all of them with stands, changing rooms and warehouses to store equipment; as well as complementary common facilities such as a cafeteria, concierge, infirmary, cleaning room, technical classroom, public toilets, general stores and engine room. To these we must add new spaces, offered by the contractor, which will be announced soon.

On the other hand, and as the councilor herself announced after signing the agreement with the Department of Justice of the Junta de Andalucía, the complex will also house the city’s new Judicial Headquarters. It will have facilities of more than 7,000 square meters and will bring together all the services that are currently dispersed in different buildings in the municipality.

“Once again, it is possible thanks to the efforts of everyone: Fuengirola residents paying their taxes and the efficient and responsible management of my team, or what is the same, the ‘Fuengirola Model’ so prestigious and recognized beyond our municipal area. We continue to fulfill commitments and move forward together towards the New Fuengirola”, concluded the first mayor.
