The courses will be held at the David Meca pool facilities in July, while in August they will take place at the María Peláez pool. Registration will open tomorrow, at 8:15 a.m., through the Citizen Card, the municipal website or in person at the Sports Department.

6/2/2026 – The Sports Department of the Fuengirola City Council has doubled this summer the offer of places for swimming courses aimed at both children and adults. This was announced today by the councilor for the area, Julio Rodríguez, who highlighted that the 264 places offered last summer will go from the 264 places offered last summer to a total of 506 in this edition.

The intensive courses will take place during the months of July and August in the municipal swimming pools. Specifically, the July activities will take place at the David Meca pool, located in the Elola Municipal Sports Complex, while the August activities will take place at the María Peláez pool.

The registration period will open tomorrow, Wednesday, June 3, starting at 8:15 a.m. through the Citizen Card and the website: https://deportesfuengirola.i2a.es/CronosWeb/Login or in person at the facilities of the Sports Department of the Elola Sports Complex.

“Summer is approaching and from the Department of Sports we continue to offer a wide and varied program for all ages, with aquatic activities adapted to both those who want to start swimming and those looking to perfect their technique or stay active,” said Rodríguez.

In addition to the courses, the municipal facilities will maintain the free swimming service from Monday to Friday in the morning, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., as well as on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the afternoon, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In relation to the training offer, the mayor explained that 200 places have been reserved for children’s learning courses, distributed into two age groups: 4 to 6 years old and 7 to 10 years old. These classes will be aimed at students starting from the initial level and will be taught from Monday to Friday in the morning, between 9:00 and 11:00, with different shifts to facilitate family conciliation. The program also includes advanced courses for children, as well as introductory and advanced groups for adults.

As for rates, the price will be 12 euros per month for registered students and 16 euros for non-registered students in the case of two weekly classes. For courses with three sessions per week, the fees will be 14 euros per month for registered students and 20 euros for non-registered students.

“These are very affordable prices that make it possible to bring sports to as many residents as possible and facilitate access to high-quality facilities during the summer,” Rodríguez highlighted.

The distribution of the 506 places offered is as follows: 200 for children’s learning, 90 for children’s improvement, 80 for adult learning and 136 for adult maintenance and improvement.
