The Fuengirola City Council mobilizes more than one million euros to promote improvements in school and sports spaces
The Plenary Session has approved a credit supplement to the current budget to install a cover on the Valdelecrín school patio and make improvements to the David Meca pool. Both projects will be financed with the remainder of the Treasury from the last fiscal year 2025.
5/27/2026 – Fuengirola City Council has mobilized more than one million euros to promote improvements in school and sports spaces. The Municipal Plenary Session has approved today, unanimously by all political groups, a credit supplement to install a cover in the courtyard of the Valdelecrín school and make improvements to the David Meca swimming pool.
The councilor of the Treasury, Rosa Ana Bravo, has explained that these are two necessary actions to improve the comfort of the students of the aforementioned educational center, located in Los Pacos, as well as to put an end to the humidity problems, caused by the logical wear and tear over the years, in the aforementioned municipal sports facility.
In this regard, he recalled that the only educational center in the town that does not yet have a roof is, precisely, Valdelecrín due to the technical complexity represented by the proximity of the homes around its patio. Once this problem is resolved, the City Council will allocate 535,493.41 euros to protect its students from inclement weather.
Likewise, the amount of this credit supplement allocated to sports equipment located in the Elola Complex amounts to 576,734.87 euros. Both amounts come from the Treasury remainder for fiscal year 2025.
