The Elola Sports Complex will host a charity paddle tennis tournament from March 20 to 22 to benefit APAFFER

3/12/2026 – The Sports Councilor of the Fuengirola City Council, Julio Rodríguez, today presented the solidarity paddle tennis tournament included in the ‘Fuengirola por Ellas’ programme. A sports and charity initiative that will take place on March 20, 21 and 22 at the paddle tennis facilities of the Elola Sports Complex. This event, organized by the City Council in collaboration with the Elola Paddle Club, aims to promote sports practice and, at the same time, raise funds for the APAFFER association, an entity that works to support people affected by fibromyalgia and their families.

During the presentation, the mayor highlighted the importance of uniting sport and solidarity: “From the City Council we want to promote activities that encourage citizen participation and that also have a solidarity component. This tournament is an excellent opportunity to enjoy paddle tennis and collaborate with the important work carried out in Fuengirola by the APAFFER association,” said Rodríguez.
Tournament format
The event will have different days of “mixing”, a type of game in which the participants change partners, promoting coexistence and a sports environment.
The planned program will start on March 20, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a female mixing, while a mixed mixing will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The next day, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., a new day of women’s mixing will be held and from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., mixed mixing. The sporting event will end on Sunday the 22nd with a new day that will be held in the morning, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Sport with a charitable cause
The proceeds obtained through registration will be allocated entirely to APAFFER, the Association of Patients with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue and other rheumatic diseases, helping to support the social work carried out by this association for the benefit of people affected by fibromyalgia disease.
The organization encourages neighbors, paddle tennis fans and all citizens to participate in this initiative, which combines sport, coexistence and solidarity.
The tournament, included in the programming of the International Women’s Day ‘Fuengirola for them’, is a prominent event in the local sports calendar, with which Fuengirola once again demonstrates its commitment to social causes through sport.
