2/18/2026 – The Councilor for Culture of the Fuengirola City Council, Rodrigo Romero, accompanied by the teachers of the Municipal School of Music, Hugo Dogma and Juan Manuel Romero, offered a press conference to present the I Seminar on Flamenco, Jazz and Latin Music ‘Between Cai and Havana’, a new training proposal aimed at musicians and music lovers.
“Our Music School, which has been successfully directed by the Círculo Dodecafónico de Fuengirola for so many years, is going to organize a complementary initiative to its usual activity. It is a flamenco, jazz and Latin music seminar to delve deeper into this type of music and for this they will have big names from the national and international scene who will offer master classes,” said Rodrigo Romero.
The seminar will be held on March 21 and 22, 2026 in the assembly hall of the Casa de la Cultura de Fuengirola. It is aimed at musicians of any instrument, singers and interested people, with a forecast of between 30 and 45 students. All participants will receive an accreditation diploma upon completion of the training.
Classes will take place in the morning, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and in the afternoon, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. During the afternoon sessions, the different combos will be performed on the stage of the assembly hall in turns or in the school classrooms.
The seminar will have an outstanding team of teachers: Antonio Lizana (saxophone and singing) and Rycardo Moreno (flamenco guitar), Rubem Dantas (percussion), as well as Leyanis Valdés (piano) and Yailín Beltrán (Latin singing).
As for prices, the general registration fee for the workshop will be 150 euros, while students at the Círculo Dodecafónico Music School will be able to benefit from a reduced price of 120 euros. In addition, a specific percussion workshop will be offered, which will be held only on March 21, for a price of 80 euros.
With this initiative, the Culture area continues to support musical training and proposals that encourage artistic exchange between different styles and traditions.
