The Fuengirola City Council advances in the Municipal Parking Plan with the planning of new actions

The City Council will rearrange one of the roads in the upper part of Los Boliches, in order to create about 55 new spaces. These new parking spaces will be added to the nearly 500 spaces created throughout the city during the current mandate and to the more than 1,000 that the Santa Fe stadium project includes.

1/26/2026 -Fuengirola City Council is advancing in the development of its Municipal Parking Plan, one of the priorities of the current mandate in terms of urban mobility, with the aim of creating new parking spaces that make the city more comfortable, accessible and functional for residents and visitors. Along these lines, the Infrastructure Area has already planned a new action that will be carried out on one of the roads in the upper part of Los Boliches, to create 55 new spaces.

The mayor of Fuengirola, Ana Mula, held a press conference today on Canarios Street in Torreblanca, accompanied by the Councilor for Infrastructure, José Sánchez, and the neighborhood councillor, María Hernández, to report on the progress of the Municipal Parking Plan, one of the priorities of the current mandate in terms of urban mobility.

“We continue working to make Fuengirola a more comfortable, accessible and functional city for all residents and visitors,” said Mula. The mayor recalled that during this term, some 500 new parking spaces have already been created in different parts of the city, with Torreblanca as the neighborhood where the largest number has been created to date.

So far this term, the City Council has already made around 500 new parking spaces available to Fuengirola residents through different actions: nearly 150 spaces in Torreblanca (PMI3); 80 in the El Higuerón area, the result of a traffic reorganization; 60 newly created on Matagorda Street; 48 in the Plaza de la Hispanidad; 43 on Arquitectos and Aparejadores streets; 20 new spaces on the Paseo Marítimo, at Marconi Street; and another five on Hernán Cortés Street.

The City Council continues working to continue increasing the number of parking spaces in the city and has already planned a new action in the upper part of the Los Boliches neighborhood. This intervention will consist of the rearrangement of the existing parking spaces on one of the roads in that neighborhood, eliminating one of the traffic lanes and establishing one-way traffic, which will allow approximately 55 new spaces to be created.

Likewise, the remodeling project of the Santa Fe de Los Boliches stadium includes the construction of an underground parking lot with more than 1,000 spaces, which will allow the number of spaces created during the current mandate to reach around 1,500.

The City Council emphasizes that this effort responds to a real demand from numerous residents and the municipal commitment to facilitate the daily lives of citizens, creating new parking spaces in all the neighborhoods of Fuengirola.

In this sense, it is worth remembering that the Government team, led by the mayor, Ana Mula, has been working constantly on this matter, achieving the creation of nearly 4,000 underground parking spaces, in addition to another 450 spaces in the Real stream vault. More recently, in the last term, more than a hundred new spaces were made available to Fuengirola residents in Torreblanca, an area where parking is especially necessary.
