This Friday, the Manuel Delgado Perea House of Culture hosts a performance by the Municipal Dance Group of Fuengirola

1/26/2026 -The Manuel Delgado Perea House of Culture will host this coming Friday, January 30, starting at 9:00 p.m., a dance competition by the Municipal Dance Group of Fuengirola, as reported this morning by the Councilor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, together with the director of the group, José Ortiz, who have indicated that entry will be free of charge until capacity is reached.
“This Friday we once again have the opportunity to enjoy our Municipal Dance Group, Mari Trini’s group, who has already left us but her legacy is still alive and present in our hearts and, above all, in this municipal group that continues to offer us a repertoire with Spanish classics, traditional Malaga dances such as the verdiales, seafaring dances from the Mediterranean coasts, popular flamenco from the different Andalusian provinces and flamenco jondo,” explained Romero.
The group is made up of male and female dancers of all ages dressed in a wide range of traditional costumes, who are accompanied by live music with the rondalla, composed of a cantaor, flamenco guitars and lutes, in addition to the castanets of the corps de ballet. His performance will take you on a sensory journey through all the Andalusian provinces.
The Fuengirola Municipal Dance Group was created in 1962 by María Trinidad León Quintero and is currently directed by her son Juan Carlos Garrido León. He developed his folkloric activity in the early years within the province of Malaga and it was in 1971 when he began his journey throughout Spain.
In 1973 it began its projection abroad, where it has represented Spain in numerous festivals and international competitions, obtaining a large number of awards and trophies, which is why it is considered one of the best folk groups in the world. They have also participated in several television programs, both in Spain and in other countries around the world.
