1/21/2026 – The Equality Area of the Fuengirola City Council has today announced its offer of workshops for the first quarter of the year, as reported by the councilor responsible for this department, Cristina Bornao. Registration is now available in the Colores Building and in the Mayor’s Office of El Boquetillo. In addition, they can be done through the Citizen Card and by mail equality@fuengirola.org. To resolve any questions, interested parties can contact the telephone number 952463525.
“Today we present the program of activities of the Equality Area for the first quarter of the year. It will take place from January to March, and, as always, it seeks to promote gender equality in our municipality. But it also has a primary objective, which is to offer citizens workshops and activities to promote self-esteem, the empowerment of the participants and also relationships based on respect and equality, as well as to contribute to the personal, emotional and also professional development of the people who carry them out,” explained Bornao.

The programming includes free activities aimed at different population groups, combining physical and emotional health actions, self-care, personal empowerment, co-responsibility, co-education and equality, which will take place mainly in the Colores Building, in the Mayor’s Office of El Boquetillo and the Miguel de Cervantes Public Library, as well as in the Gloria Fuertes Public Library.
Among the planned activities are yoga and dance therapy workshops, aimed at improving physical and emotional well-being; pelvic floor workshops, for both women and men, from a preventive and normalizing approach; as well as workshops focused on self-care, gratitude, healthy eating and personal development.
The acquisition of skills, such as the use of computer tools or social networks, is also included in the programming with two initiatives: a digitalization course aimed at female entrepreneurs and businesswomen, which will take place at the Mayor’s Office of El Boquetillo on February 3, 5, 17 and 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.; as well as a content creation course for social networks that will also take place in the Tenencia of El Boquetillo, on February 3, 5, 17 and 19, but from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Likewise, the program incorporates specific equality awareness actions, such as the Scape Room for Equality, an educational and participatory activity that addresses gender equality in a playful way, and the Co-education through Stories Workshop, aimed at the general public, which uses literature as a tool to break stereotypes from an early age.
The City Council highlights that this programming responds to the municipal commitment to the prevention of inequalities, the promotion of comprehensive health and the creation of safe spaces for participation among the population of Fuengirola.
Interested people can register through the Equality Area equality@fuengirola.org, remembering that people registered in Fuengirola will have priority. All information about dates, times and places can also be consulted on the electronic headquarters.
“With this programming, Fuengirola City Council reinforces its commitment to public policies that place people at the center and contribute to building a more egalitarian, healthy and cohesive city,” concluded Cristina Bornao.
