The Fuengirola City Council reinforces security at Christmas with a Special Plan during the holidays
The Local Security Board agrees to create special agent services during five major Christmas events. In collaboration with the DGT there will be alcohol controls to avoid negligent driving and the Local Police will intensify proximity and contact with neighbors
12/12/2025 – The Fuengirola City Council reinforces security at Christmas with a Special Plan during the holidays, as expressed by the mayor Ana Mula after the celebration of the last Local Security Board of the year. In this sense, as has been detailed, this body, in which representatives of the State Security Forces and Corps participate, has agreed to the creation of special agent services during five major Christmas events in the town. Specifically, the Great Christmas Bonfire (December 23), Christmas Eve, the Medieval Festival (December 30), New Year’s Eve and the Parade of Their Majesties the Three Wise Men of the East.
“Fuengirola is a safe and orderly city. Nothing in terms of security is left to the chance of improvisation. Together with the National Police we study, analyze and plan each of the key moments of this celebration to respond to any incident that may occur during its development. The same happens on daily days, where the ordinary service of Local Police and Firefighters is sized to the needs of the citizens. In this sense, as I said recently, we do it by promoting proximity and contact with neighbors. By being present in the neighborhoods and commercial areas during the mornings and in the busiest parks and squares during the afternoons,” said the councilor.
In this way, the event that will bring together the most troops will be the Parade, with up to 44 police officers and an extraordinary Fire Department that will have four officials. At the Medieval Festival there will be two shifts of up to seven police officers each, in addition to a retainer of three firefighters.
On the other hand, as Mula has highlighted, the local security body will carry out random traffic controls in different parts of the city in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT). On this occasion, on the occasion of the festivities, the intervening agents will emphasize carrying out breathalyzer tests to avoid improper driving.
All these measures are part of the Security Plan that the mayor herself presented, a month ago, with the idea of reinforcing order in the town. Among the actions was the installation of more surveillance video cameras
Finally, Ana Mula has asked her neighbors and visitors to enjoy this time of year in the city with joy, but also with responsibility and civility.
“I insist: we are a safe and orderly city. And to continue being that way, we all have to do our part as we always do: carrying out exemplary behavior. And if something happens, our police and firefighters will be there to intervene with their usual professionalism and vocation for service. I encourage you to live an unforgettable Christmas. To enjoy every celebration and corner of our city. To consume with total tranquility and joy in our establishments. And to once again show the world that Fuengirola is the best place to spend Christmas,” has concluded.
