The Fuengirola Sports Department closes an “extraordinary” 2025 with record numbers of participation, investment and sporting events

More than 600,000 euros in improvements to the Elola CD

In 2025, the Sports Facilities Plan has involved an investment of 616,000 euros, allocated to the modernization of the Elola Sports Complex: new directed activity rooms, LED renovation of fields and pavilions, accessibility improvements, skylights, paddle tennis courts and pool control systems.

The City Council has also allocated more than 40,000 euros in sports equipment, furniture and promotion of activities.

Record number of sports places and users

The 2024/2025 season has offered a total of 4,928 municipal places, the highest number recorded in its history.
The number of active users amounts to 4,832, which represents an increase of 593 more users than the previous year.
Adding users and sports clubs, more than 10,000 people practice sports every month in the municipal facilities and schools of Fuengirola.

Increase in subsidies to clubs and athletes

Training and sport with values

The ‘Gradas en Paz’ talks and the ‘Fuengirola Olímpica’ cycle, with the swimmer María de Valdés, have reached more than 2,000 young people and families, with the aim of promoting respect, coexistence and motivation in sport.

In Fuengirola, sport and solidarity go hand in hand, as evidenced by the solidarity donations generated by the Department of Sports for associations in 2025, through 14 events that managed to raise 55,318 euros for different social groups in the city.
