12/10/2025 – The Senior Citizens Area of the Fuengirola City Council has organized a series of Christmas snacks for the city’s seniors that will be entertained by the Puebla Lucía Choir and will take place on the 16th at the Yaramar hotel (4:30 p.m.), on December 17 at the Occidental hotel (5:00 p.m.), on the 18th at the Leonardo hotel (4:30 p.m.) and on December 22 at the Consistorial hotel (5:00 p.m.). Attendance at these snacks is free, but it is necessary to reserve a place in advance at the Senior Citizens’ Center on Blanca Paloma Street, presenting a valid retiree card.

The Councilor for Families, Equality and Social Welfare, Cristina Bornao, has announced this initiative, which has become a traditional event within the Christmas program for this group.

“Today we present one of the activities that we like to organize the most during the Christmas season and that we also do in collaboration with the Festivals and Traditions Area and also with the hoteliers of our city, with whom we organize snacks aimed at the elderly,” said the councilor.

With these snacks, the City Council seeks to “foster social relations between the residents of each area and, at the same time, bring the local hotel offering closer to the citizens and make them aware of the facilities of four hotels in the city,” said Bornao.

The City Council appreciates the collaboration and availability of the Yaramar, Leonardo, Consistorial and Occidental Fuengirola hotels, which have provided their spaces for the celebration of these Christmas gatherings aimed at the elderly.

The snacks have been organized by neighborhood to facilitate attendance and reduce travel, also respecting the capacity established by each hotel. In this way, as the councilor has detailed, on the 16th older people from the areas of Carvajal, Torreblanca, Los Pacos and Los Boliches will go to the Yaramar hotel; On the 17th, the Occidental hotel will receive the elderly from the Carmen, Miramar and El Castillo neighborhoods; On the 18th, residents of the Fairgrounds, Pueblo López, El Boquetillo and Las Chozas will attend the Leonardo hotel; while the Casa Consistorial hotel will be attended by 22 adults from the Central and San Cayetano areas on the 22nd.
