11/5/2025 – Fuengirola will welcome Christmas by turning on its spectacular and exclusive artistic lighting on Friday, November 28 in an event that will take place in the Plaza de España, at 7:30 p.m. This was announced today by the Councilor for Festivals and Traditions, Isabel Moreno, who has announced that on this occasion the city will show off unique and sustainable lighting elements.
“For some time now, the company awarded the lighting services, Iluminaciones Ximénez, has been installing all the wiring and connections so that this Christmas we can enjoy our streets. All of this will be lit on Friday, November 28 starting at seven thirty in the afternoon,” said Moreno, pointing out that “in total 2.5 million light points are being installed in the city, all of them with LED technology, with which we unite tradition, innovation and sustainability to our extensive Christmas programming.”
This year the lighting device will be made up of a total of 440 arches, 155 decorated street lamps, 4 grouped elements, 13 illuminated facades, 70 ground figures, 1 3D pine tree, 10 illuminated signs, 200 garlands, 133 decorated natural trees, with a total of 2.5 million light points and a total installed power of 215,862 W.
Regarding the novelties that this year presents the artistic lighting, Moreno has pointed out that “on this occasion we are going to install in Pedro Cuevas Square a forest of cherry trees similar to the one that usually beautifies the Plaza de la Hispanidad at Christmas. In total there will be 24 cherry trees that, when illuminated, will dye the square pink and beautify the entire environment.”
On the other hand, the councilor has also highlighted the new and spectacular lighting that is being installed in the Plaza de España, “where we are going to have an exclusive forest, which is being created and which will form a large tunnel of 36 linear meters, which can be visited and which will host shows every half hour, from seven in the afternoon to nine at night.”
Thus, on Friday, November 28, at 7:30 p.m., the inaugural event of the artistic lighting will be held in the Plaza de España, which will feature the participation of the children’s choir of the Hermandad del Rocío de Fuengirola and the Chassé dance academy.
Regarding the Christmas programming, Isabel Moreno has indicated that this year a total of 95 activities will be carried out designed for the enjoyment of all audiences and that they will include everything from shows and concerts to workshops, exhibitions, markets and solidarity events.
