The squash courts at the Elola Complex in Fuengirola will host free squash classes for women every Thursday

Those interested in entering this indoor racket discipline can register at the Fuengirola Squash Club.

Classes, which will begin this Thursday, November 6, will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

11/04/2025. The squash courts of the Elola Complex will host free classes of this sport for women every Thursday, as announced today by the Councilor for Sports, Julio Rodríguez, and the president of the local Club of this indoor racket discipline, Pedro Ríos.

“Following the line of supporting and promoting women’s sports, we have gladly welcomed the initiative of the Fuengirola Squash Club to give our courts to the training and technicalization of this sport in women. The practice of sports of any kind, and in this case to introduce a minority discipline, is always positive and an opportunity to promote well-being,” explained the councilor.

In this way, starting next November 6, this municipal sports facility will be open to all women who wish to learn to practice this racket sport.

The classes, which will be run by the Fuengirola Squash Club, will always take place from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the courts themselves, which, as Rodríguez recalled, were recently remodeled.

For his part, Pedro Ríos has thanked the collaboration and willingness shown by the Department of Sports and has encouraged those interested to try their luck by signing up for this initiative. To do this, they must contact the club itself through its social networks.

“We think it may be of interest to many women and I have to say that, at first, we are delighted with the reception it has received. We greatly appreciate the collaboration of the City Council and we hope that this interest continues in our students and they enjoy this sport,” declared the head of the local entity.
