The Fuengirola City Council encourages residents to collaborate as volunteers in the Great Bancosol Collection, on November 7 and 8

10/6/2025 – Fuengirola will host a new edition of The Great Recollection on November 7 and 8, which is organized every year by Bancosol nationwide and which on this occasion needs volunteers to carry out the initiative in our city. This was stated this morning by the Fuengirola councilor and provincial deputy, Francisco José Martín, and the president of the Málaga Bancosol Food Bank, Diego Vázquez García, who recalled that, as in recent years, the campaign will be developed through financial donations when checking out.
“The Great Collection will take place on this occasion on November 7 and 8 and today we are making it public in Fuengirola for those people who are interested in collaborating as volunteers to provide information, because this initiative no longer consists of delivering food, but rather donating some money so that they can carry out their help to families who are going through a delicate situation in our province,” Martín explained.
In this sense, the councilor has indicated that “those people who want to volunteer during these days can register through email compoundferial@fuengirola.org. There they must enter their personal information and a contact telephone number and later we will hold a meeting with those interested to explain what their work consists of and inform them of the area where they should collaborate as volunteers.”
For his part, Diego Vázquez has indicated that “every year around this time we have the great solidarity festival in Malaga, which is The Great Collection of the Bancosol Food Bank. Today we serve more than 23,000 people in the province of Malaga, of which more than 600 are children. In Fuengirola we are serving 629 people through two social entities, among them 95 are children.”
Vázquez highlighted that “until the end of September we have distributed 74,568 kilos of food and we are calling for supportive people to reach out to people who, for whatever reason, are going through a bad time.” One aspect that the president of Bancosol wanted to make clear is that “for the purchase of food we do not receive any type of aid, whether state, regional, provincial, or local. Everything is based on the contributions of Malaga society. This makes us proud, because all the help we provide to dignify the more than 22,000 people we are serving is thanks to the campaigns we carry out and the civil society of Malaga and its province.”
