Los Boliches Beach hosts this Friday, August 15 a new staging of the copo roll

It is an ancient fishing art that is not currently allowed, but that has marked the way of working of the people of the sea for centuries and wants to avoid being forgotten. The recreation will begin at 08:30 hours and will take place between the Varadero area and the chiringuito Los Náufragos

8/13/2025 – Los Boliches Beach hosts this Friday, August 15, a new staging of the copo circulation, an ancient fishing art that is not currently allowed, but which is celebrated in the city to remember an ancestral tradition that has marked the way of working on the people of the sea for centuries. The tribute will begin at 08:30 hours at the beach of Los Boliches, specifically between the Varadero area and the chiringuito Los Náufragos.

The deputy mayor of the Boliches, Rosa Ana Bravo, explained that this recreation is usually held twice a year, coinciding with the festivities of the Virgen del Carmen de los Boliches and on the day of August 15, for the day of the Assumption. “It is a tribute to all the families that for years lived from the sea, which we jointly organize the City Council and the Peña Bolichera,” said Bravo.

As stressed, to carry out this activity in the best possible way, from the possession of the mayor of the Boliches all permits corresponding to the Junta de Andalucía are requested annually, “in addition, everything that the networks drag during the staging is returned to the sea, as the authorities send”.

Finally, the councilor has invited “to the Fuenters of all ages and visitors to spend Friday morning in this environment, from half past eight in the morning, enjoying what is one of our most significant traditions and that so many memories brings to the oldest sailors of Fuengirola”.
