10/2/2026 – The Mayor’s Office of El Boquetillo will host next Thursday, February 12, the workshop ‘Sapiensex: play and learn about sexuality’. An activity taught by Rocío Carmona Horta, psychologist, mediator and expert in preventing violence and promoting gender equality, through the game Sapiensex, created by herself, and in which, in a fun and playful way, an issue such as sexuality will be discussed. The activity will take place at the Mayor’s Office of El Boquetillo, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Councilor for Families, Equality and Social Welfare, Cristina Bornao, has been in charge of publicizing this initiative, which is organized “to commemorate February 14, a date on which, in addition to Valentine’s Day, Sexual and Reproductive Rights Day is also celebrated.”
This workshop proposes a dynamic and participatory format, based on play and reflection, to address issues related to sexuality, dismantle myths and promote greater awareness about one’s own body, emotions and interpersonal relationships.
“Sapiensex is an emotional sexual education game, based on traditional board games, to learn about pleasure, health, responsibility and assertive and egalitarian interpersonal relationships. It is played through questions and answers and challenge tests, which encourages teamwork, participation and critical thinking,” said Bornao.
This activity is an opportunity to talk about couple relationships, promoting the values necessary to develop a healthy, diverse, responsible and pleasant sexuality. A sexuality focused on the connection with personal needs and respect for those of others. All of this is essential for the prevention of sexual violence and for the promotion of relationships where values such as connection, communication, empathy and assertiveness prevail.
The initiative is part of the actions promoted by the Fuengirola City Council on equality and has the support of the State Pact against gender violence, the Junta de Andalucía and the Ministry of Equality.
With proposals such as “Sapiensex”, the City Council continues to support emotional-sexual education as a key tool to prevent gender violence and promote values of respect, equality and coexistence.
People interested in participating can pre-register through the Citizen Card, by email to equality@fuengirola.org or register directly at the event location.
