The Fuengirola City Council puts out to tender the drafting of the project and the work of the remodeling of the Santa Fe de Los Boliches Stadium

It will increase its surface area to 14,500 square meters and will involve the creation of an underground car park for 1,000 parking spaces, as well as the new judicial headquarters. The investment in this action, which is an electoral commitment of the current Government team, amounts to 50 million euros and is fully municipal.

13/1/2026 – The Fuengirola City Council has put out to tender the drafting of the project and the work of the remodeling of the Santa Fe de Los Boliches Antonio Basilio Stadium. The action has been recently published on the State Contracting Platform and will be able to receive offers from interested companies until next January 19.

“A commitment that I made with the people of Fuengirola in the last elections was to remodel the Santa Fe stadium of Los Boliches Antonio Basilio and respond to the important demand for parking that our city, and particularly, Los Boliches, has. We are talking about a very ambitious action that pursues two objectives: to continue renovating and expanding sports spaces and to offer more parking to residents and visitors. We can already say that it is beginning to be a reality. Last December, this ambitious intervention, which concentrates so much the drafting of the project as well as its construction,” explained Mayor Ana Mula accompanied by the Councilor for Strategic Infrastructure, Rocío Arriaga.

The specifications and technical documents for this intervention have estimated the tender budget at 50,820,000 euros – 1,815,000 euros for the drafting of the project and 49,005,000 euros for the fully municipal financing work – and the initial execution period at 36 months – four months for the preparation of the technical document and 32 months to demolish the current sports complex and erect the new one.

The objective of the action is to increase the floor area by just over 1,000 square meters (from the current little more than 13,000 to the nearly 14,500 established in the specifications), incorporating part of Francisco Rivera ‘Paquirri’ street, attached to the sports equipment itself.

Likewise, it contemplates the creation of a new soccer field; a renovated covered hockey pavilion, another for volleyball and a third multifunctional one to develop another series of sports practices, all of them with stands, changing rooms and warehouses to store equipment; as well as complementary common facilities such as a cafeteria, concierge, infirmary, cleaning room, technical classroom, public toilets, general stores and engine room.

1,000 parking spaces

An important novelty that this intervention incorporates is the creation of a two-story underground car park under the surface of the aforementioned sports facility. The initial estimate has established the number of parking spaces at 1,000 spaces, as stated in the commitment with which the current Fuengirola president attended the last municipal elections in 2023.

On the other hand, and as the councilor herself recently announced after signing the agreement with the Department of Justice of the Junta de Andalucía, the complex will also house the city’s new Judicial Headquarters. It will have facilities of more than 7,000 square meters and will bring together all the services that are currently dispersed in different buildings in the municipality.
