Fuengirola consolidates the excellence of its water service with new certifications in quality, safety and environment
Gestagua offers a service of the highest quality in the city, as endorsed by the recently achieved UNE-EN-ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications.
11/26/2025 -The Fuengirola water service concessionaire company, Gestagua, has consolidated its commitment to operational excellence and sustainability by obtaining the ISO 45001 Occupational Risk Prevention certification for its water service in the city, as well as the accreditation of the National Security Scheme (ENS), which guarantees the protection of the information and systems used in the provision of the service.
The company continues to advance its environmental strategy and plans to soon obtain the ISO 14064 Carbon Footprint certification, covering all of its operations nationwide. This recognition accredits its management and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, reinforcing its commitment to a responsible environmental management model aligned with the objectives of fighting climate change.
Within this global strategy, the Fuengirola municipal water service has taken a decisive step with the achievement of two key certifications in recent months, which are added to the ISO 9001 Quality Management certification, implemented previously; ISO 14001, Environmental Management, which guarantees the effectiveness of its processes and its respect for the environment, and ISO 45001, Safety and Health at Work, which ensures the effective prevention of occupational risks.
As explained by the Gestagua delegate in the town, Enrique Sánchez, “in Fuengirola we have followed a clear path: first to reinforce the quality of the service, then to advance in the protection of the environment, to guarantee the security of our users’ information and, finally, to certify our commitment to the safety and well-being of the staff.” The certifications, he assures, “reflect a solid process of continuous improvement at the service of citizens.”
These accreditations guarantee the effectiveness of the processes implemented in the municipality, the integration of environmental criteria in daily management and the commitment to the safety and well-being of workers.
