The Manuel Delgado Perea de Fuengirola Culture House will be the scene on September 30 of the Conference ‘200 Anniversary of the Railroad. The background and their origins’. This has been announced this morning the Councilor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, and the lecturer, Miguel Ros, who have explained that the appointment will be at 8:00 p.m. with free admission until capacity is completed.

“On Tuesday, September 30, we will have a conference, which brings us an expert in the field such as Miguel Ros, on an issue that is very passionate about how the train is. And it is fulfilled at the end of this month the second centenary of the first railway line that existed in the world and we will make a small review of the antecedents, its origins, the first we had in Spain …” Romero explained.

In this sense, the mayor has pointed out that “the train is an issue that interests many people, it is also full of curiosities and anecdotes and many other things that I am convinced that they will be of high interest, so I encourage everyone to go to the House of Culture on September 30 at eight in the afternoon.”

For his part, Miguel Ros has indicated that “the railroad is a means of transport that meant a great evolution. It arose as a result of the industrial revolution, from the development of the James Watt steam machine and the evolutions that were later made and its applications until reaching the transport of the railroad. It is a bit to tell the story, the birth and how was the evolution of the steam machine to those first old locomotives, until reaching the famous September 27 1825 in which the railroad took its first steps with a line with passengers and merchandise, because with goods had already been running previously. ”

In this sense, Ros explained that “all this has a lot to do with the evolution that small cities have had in our country that still maintain the railroad and an example of this is Fuengirola, which in May 1916, 109 years ago, enjoyed this public service leading people and merchandise to the entire province and linking the city with the capital. In addition, last July we had the 50th anniversary of the 50th anniversary Railway of the nexus between Málaga and Fuengirola ”.
