Fuengirola City Council encourages participating in the Romería del Rosario on Sunday, September 28
The pilgrimage to El Esparragal Park, in Mijas, will depart from the Patroness Church at the end of the 10:00 Mass
9/18/2025 – Fuengirola will celebrate the pilgrimage in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary on Sunday, September 28. This has been announced today by the councilor Fiestas, Isabel Moreno, who has invited all Fuels and visitors to join this popular celebration of veneration to the patron saint of the city.
“Next Sunday, September 28, our pilgrimage in honor of the Virgen del Rosario will take place in our city and in the neighboring municipality of Mijas. We will start at ten in the morning with the Romeros Mass in the Parroquia del Rosario and, once the Mass ends, we will leave for the neighboring municipality of Mijas until we reach the Esparragal estate,” said Moreno. “
The itinerary will be: Plaza de la Constitución, Avenida Condes de San Isidro, Calle Hermanos Pinzón, Avenida de Mijas (to the municipality of the neighboring town), Camino de Campanals, Camino de Coín, Margin of the Fuengirola River and Parque de El Esparragal. The arrival of the delegation is scheduled at 1:15 p.m.
Once in the Mijeña recreation zone, attendees will be able to live the usual day of coexistence. Due to the time of the year in which it is celebrated, it will not be allowed to perform fires or barbecues. Yes there will be beverage bar, which this time will be managed by the Association of Family members of Alzheimer’s patients (AFA).
In addition, as Moreno explained, “around four in the afternoon the performance of the El Cenachero, Paco and Llina musical group will begin, which will offer two passes to make us enjoy a pleasant day.”
At 7:00 p.m. the way back from the Virgen del Rosario will begin to her parish “to arrive once the novena of that day is over.”
To conclude, the mayor has pointed out that “we have all the necessary ingredients and the perfectly planned operation with Local Police, Civil Guard, Civil Protection, Firefighters and the Operational Services of Fuengirola and Mijas that in a coordinated way they will do an excellent job, as we are accustomed to us, so that we can enjoy the wonderful pilgrimage in honor of the Virgen del Rosario in its 2025 edition.
