They will take place from June 30 to July 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Registrations can be made for free by sending an email to meniarestauracion@gmail.com, indicating in the subject: SUMMER WORKSHOP. This was announced today by the Councilor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, together with the archaeologist and restorer of Menia Restauración, Cristina Moreno.
“Many areas of the City Council promote proposals so that we can enjoy quality moments with the little ones in the house during the summer and one of the things that we have been doing from the Culture Area and that are very successful are these cultural days, which are also recreational, playful, very entertaining and fun, where we combine history on the one hand, crafts on the other, and we get to know one of the most important archaeological environments in Fuengirola, such as the Secretary’s Estate,” explained Romero.
For her part, Cristina Moreno has indicated that “on this occasion we are going to take a journey through history. We will start with prehistory and go through the Phoenician world, the Iberian world, Roman art and the medieval world. There are four days of activities and each of them will be dedicated to a historical era. Each day we will carry out an informative activity that will have to do with the Finca del Secretary Site and then we will make a historical reproduction.”
Thus, on Tuesday, June 30, two workshops focused on prehistory on cave painting and idols will be held; The workshops on July 1 will deal with polychromy and Phoenician art; For their part, the workshops that will take place on July 2 will focus on the polychromy and mythology of Ancient Rome; while the activities on Friday the 3rd will deal with the Middle Ages, specifically they will focus on the tiles and plasterwork of that time.
