The Senior Citizens Area organizes four new trips for the elderly of Fuengirola during the last quarter of the year
The program includes excursions to Córdoba and Santiponce, as well as a trip to the Puy du Fou theme park (Toledo) and a three-day circuit through Úbeda, Baeza, Jaén and Linares. Registration to participate in these activities can be done at the Senior Citizens Area on Blanca Paloma Street.
7/14/2026 – The Councilor for Families, Equality and Social Welfare and head of the Senior Citizens Area of the Fuengirola City Council, Cristina Bornao, today presented the travel program organized for the last quarter of 2026, an initiative that offers the municipality’s seniors new opportunities to enjoy historical heritage, culture and coexistence. The offer includes two one-day excursions to Córdoba (September 10) and Santiponce (November 13), as well as a trip to Puy du Fou (September 16 to 18) and a three-day circuit through Úbeda, Baeza, Jaén and Linares (October 20 to 22).
«We continue to focus on offering our elders quality leisure activities that allow them to travel, see new places and share experiences. These trips are very well received because they combine culture, coexistence and affordable prices, also promoting active aging,” said Bornao.
The first proposal will take place on September 10 with an excursion to Medina Azahara and the Jewish Quarter of Córdoba. The trip includes travel by very comfortable coach, accompanying guide, breakfast en route, lunch in a restaurant with water and wine, visit to Medina Azahara with a shuttle bus, tour of the Jewish Quarter with a local guide and travel insurance. The price is 67 euros per person.
From September 16 to 18, a trip to the Puy du Fou theme park in Toledo has been scheduled, “a trip whose seats are already full since we announced it some time ago,” Bornao pointed out.
Subsequently, from October 20 to 22, the ‘Renaissance Route: Úbeda, Baeza, Jaén and Linares’ circuit will be held, which includes travel by coach, accompanying guide, breakfast en route, stay at the Hotel Palacio de Mengíbar on a full board basis, visits to Úbeda, Baeza, Jaén, Linares and Baños de la Encina, tickets to monuments, local guides and travel insurance. The price is 295 euros per person in a double room, with a supplement of 85 euros for a single room.
The program will conclude on November 13 with an excursion to Santiponce, where participants will visit the archaeological site of Itálica and the Monastery of San Isidoro del Campo. The trip includes a very comfortable coach, accompanying guide, breakfast en route, lunch in a restaurant with water and wine, and travel insurance. The price is 59 euros per person.
«Our goal is to continue offering a varied program that promotes social relationships, well-being and the active participation of our seniors. We invite everyone to inform themselves and reserve their place as soon as possible,” added the mayor.
Registration can be done at the Senior Citizens Area on Blanca Paloma Street, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., where additional information about each trip is also provided. To formalize the reservation it is essential to present the Fuengirola retiree card.
