The Fuengirola City Council opens a call for transport aid for Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and higher artistic education students
The application period will remain open until August 7 and applications may be submitted to the municipal registries, the Electronic Headquarters or the Youth Department. The City Council allocates 30,000 euros to this new line of aid, which expands municipal support for transportation beyond university studies
7/10/2026 – The Fuengirola City Council has launched a new call for transport aid aimed in this case at students registered in the city who are studying Baccalaureate, Vocational Training or higher artistic education in educational centers located in other municipalities in the province of Malaga. This was announced by the Youth Councilor, Isaac Vargas, who has reported that the application submission period will remain open from today until August 7.
This new line of subsidies, endowed with an amount of 30,000 euros, was created to complement the aid for university transport that the City Council has been granting for years and thus expand municipal support for young people who continue their training outside of Fuengirola.
«From the Fuengirola City Council we continue to reinforce our commitment to education and to our young people. We want no student to see their training limited by the cost of travel and, for this reason, we are taking another step by expanding these aid to those who study Baccalaureate, Vocational Training or higher artistic education outside our city,” said Vargas.
The mayor explained that this initiative responds to the evolution of the educational offer and the new needs of students. «More and more young people are opting for Vocational Training or specialized artistic education. It was necessary to adapt our support policies so that everyone has the same opportunities, regardless of the training itinerary they choose,” he highlighted.
To access these aids it will be necessary to be registered in Fuengirola, be enrolled in an educational center in the province of Malaga located at a minimum distance of 11 kilometers from the municipality and meet the economic, academic and property requirements established in the bases of the call.
Applications may be submitted to the General Entry Registry of the City Council, in the Mayor’s Offices of Los Boliches and El Boquetillo, through the Municipal Electronic Headquarters or in person at the Youth Department, located in the Colores building, where advice will also be offered to resolve any questions related to the processing.
