5/11/2026 – The calisthenics park on the Paseo Marítimo de Fuengirola, located next to the Peseta Monument, will host a free introductory workshop to this sport this Wednesday. This was announced by the Councilor for Sports, Julio Rodríguez, who explained that the activity will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The workshop is aimed at all those people interested in learning about and practicing calisthenics, a sports discipline based on exercises performed with one’s own body weight. During the day, participants will be able to learn basic notions about this modality, exercises and progressions adapted to different levels, introduction to handstand and correct training techniques.
The activity will be taught by the trainer specialized in calisthenics, Miriam del Olmo, and aims to promote outdoor sports and bring this discipline closer to neighbors and visitors.
In this sense, Julio Rodríguez has highlighted that “from the Department of Sports we continue to promote initiatives that promote healthy lifestyle habits and sport accessible to all.”
Likewise, the mayor pointed out that “this is a magnificent opportunity to start calisthenics, enjoy the surroundings of the Paseo Marítimo and learn about a sport that is increasingly popular among young people and fans of physical exercise.” Places to participate in this activity are completely free.
