The Fuengirola City Council activates a special Cleaning device for the XXX International Fair of the Countries

A total of 85 workers will ensure the cleaning of the Fairgrounds and its surroundings during the event.

4/28/2026 – The Fuengirola City Council has launched a special Cleaning device on the occasion of the XXX International Country Fair, which will be held at the Fairgrounds from April 29 to May 3. This was announced today by the Councilor for Cleaning, Carmen Díaz, who explained that a total of 85 workers will work to guarantee that both the Fairgrounds and the surrounding streets are in impeccable condition for a few days in which thousands of visitors will come to the city to enjoy the gastronomy, folklore and culture of the 33 participating countries.

“The International Fair of the Countries is one of the great events of the year in our city, so we have been preparing a special cleaning device for months that will not only act in the Fairgrounds, but also in all the surrounding roads,” said Díaz. In this sense, the councilor has detailed that the operators will carry out waste collection, manual and mechanical sweeping, as well as washing and hydrocleaning work.

Furthermore, on the occasion of the traditional Parade, a specific service will be deployed made up of five workers who will work in the central area so that, once the parade is over, the route is completely clean.

Inside the Fairgrounds, each of the booths will have containers for organic waste and other waste, which will be emptied and removed throughout the day as many times as necessary.

Likewise, the councilor highlighted that several selective collection points will be enabled to facilitate the recycling of waste generated by the booths, thus contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly celebration.

Díaz thanked the collaboration of the Cleaning service concessionaire, as well as the Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Western Costa del Sol and Ecovidrio, entities that participate once again in the selective collection operation during the fair.

Finally, the municipal manager has appealed for the collaboration of neighbors and visitors to keep the site in the best conditions. «We have numerous bins and containers distributed throughout the Fairgrounds. We ask all attendees to make use of them and contribute, with civic and responsible behavior, so that we can all enjoy a clean, safe and exemplary International Fair of the Countries,” he concluded.
