On March 25, the Miguel de Cervantes Library will host the workshop ‘Coeducation through stories’ aimed at family audiences

The activity, organized by the Department of Families, Equality and Social Welfare, is part of the municipal program ‘Fuengirola por Ellas’ on the occasion of International Women’s Day

3/18/2026 – The Councilor for Families, Equality and Social Welfare of the Fuengirola City Council, Cristina Bornao, today presented the workshop ‘Coeducation through stories’, an initiative aimed at family audiences that will be held on March 25 at 5:00 p.m. at the Miguel de Cervantes Public Library. The activity is part of the municipal program ‘Fuengirola por Ellas’, organized to commemorate International Women’s Day.

As Bornao explained, this proposal arises from the Department’s commitment to promoting equality and education in values ​​from an early age, a fundamental tool to build a more fair, respectful and equitable society.

The workshop will be developed through the telling of children’s stories that break traditional stereotypes, make diverse female references visible and promote values ​​such as respect, co-responsibility, empathy and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.

The activity will include participatory dynamics, guided dialogue and creative proposals, with the aim of promoting reflection and learning in a close, educational and recreational environment.

In this way, Fuengirola City Council continues to promote initiatives that promote equality from childhood, using children’s literature as an educational and transformative tool to raise awareness among families and promote an education based on respect and equal opportunities.
