3/11/2026 – Fuengirola City Council has enabled a monitoring system for its cleaning teams to optimize the service and reinforce order and decoration in the municipality. The mayor Ana Mula and the councilor for the sector, Carmen Díaz, have visited the new control center, which allows knowing in real time the geographical distribution of all the means that are part of Waste Collection and Street Cleaning.
“Fuengirola is a city that stands out for the cleanliness and care of its public spaces. It is one of the aspects that our visitors value most and one of the main reasons why they choose to repeat as a tourist destination. It is the result of a large municipal investment, constant planning and, above all, the daily and extraordinary work of the cleaning service operators. In this context of continuous improvement, we incorporate the ability to monitor all the means we have at our disposal to know their working capacity and better organize the devices,” he explained. the councilor
In this way, the new system consists of a control room arranged in several screens that offer real-time information on the location and characteristics of each vehicle and the ecological island complexes.
Likewise, this management tool allows those responsible for the Department to know exactly the performance of each of the devices that make up the service, as well as the frequency by which each of them has passed through each area.
In fact, in addition to saving all these records in the database, you can consult the routes and work carried out by any vehicle on a given day. In some cases, such as sweepers or washing tubs, they can also be identified when the brushes are being used or when the washing function is activated.
“The information that this system provides us is key when making decisions and programming each device. It is a very valuable tool to optimize the service, know its progress and respond to our neighbors’ demands much more quickly and directly, with real and reliable data,” concluded Ana Mula.
