9/3/2026 – Next Thursday, March 12, the Fuengirola Peace Palace will host the talk ‘Communication, Equality and Sport’, which will feature the participation of athletes María Farfán, Esther Sanz and Elena Moreno. This was recalled today by the Councilor for Sports, Julio Rodríguez, and the Councilor for Education, Carmen Díaz. The meeting will begin at 12:00 p.m. and will have free entry until capacity is reached.
Rodríguez explained that “this week, from the departments of Equality, Education and Sports, we have organized a meeting together with the Association of Sports Journalists of Malaga in which three provincial leaders of women’s sports will share their experience with young people from our educational centers in the talk Communication, Equality and Sports.”

The councilor has indicated that the objective of this initiative is “to show that it is possible to make academic training compatible with sports practice and professional development.” In this sense, he added that these types of meetings also seek to “prevent the abandonment of sports between the ages of 13 and 17, especially among girls, and encourage physical activity to be part of their daily lives.”
For her part, Carmen Díaz has highlighted the close collaboration between the Departments of Education and Sports to promote activities aimed at the educational community. “Weekly, students from different educational centers practice sports at the Elola sports complex and, in addition, we offer very interesting initiatives for young people, such as this talk, which already has around 500 students registered and which we hope will reach as many young people as possible in our city.”
The Councilor for Education has encouraged “all those people, associations or educational centers that have not yet confirmed their attendance to contact us by email at educacion@fuengirola.org.”
