9/3/2026 – The Fuengirola City Council is advancing the works of 24 Municipal Support Housing in Carvajal, which are already 85% complete. This is an initiative of the Municipal Plan for Access to Housing, which will respond to the need to find this resource for 24 young people from Fuengirola under the age of 35 who currently have difficulties affording this property on the free market. The mayor Ana Mula, together with the councilor responsible for the Carvajal area, María Hernández, have visited the work.

“We continue to develop the Housing Access Plan. Not even a month ago we delivered the fifteen apartments that we built on Aliaria Street in Los Pacos, and now, we are entering the final phase of the works on this development for young people. It consists of two buildings and the magnificent result is already beginning to be clearly seen,” said the councilor.
In this way, the City Council began the construction of these 24 apartments, on Begoña de Carvajal Street, in November 2024. In the case of this promotion, it is intended for young people with difficulties in accessing this property on the free market and will operate under a temporary affordable rental regime.
The total investment in this municipal initiative amounts to 3,868,581.94 euros, of which 28.86% is financed by European Next Generation Funds. The execution period for these works is 547 calendar days and the company Glesa is in charge of the work.
It will be a residential complex that will house apartments with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a terrace, as well as twelve parking spaces located in the basement of the property. It is being erected on a municipal lot, located on Begoña Street, which has an area of 3,376.51 square meters.

In this way, in the last four years the City Council has promoted the construction of more than 80 Municipal Support apartments in Los Pacos, on Aliaria street. The most recent to be delivered are the fifteen from Los Pacos dedicated to families – one of them for three elderly people who lived alone – with difficulties in finding a roof over their heads in the free market.
Housing Applicant Registry
Finally, Mula recalled that these apartments will be granted on an affordable rental basis based on the parameters established in the Municipal Housing Claimant Ordinance.
In this regard, he recalled that Fuengirola residents who wish to apply for this process and any Municipal Support Housing promotions provided by the Consistory must be, as a first requirement, registered in the Municipal Registry of Housing Claimants. A procedure that can be carried out in person in office 1 of the Mayor’s Office of El Boquetillo.
