Fuengirola consolidates its cultural commitment with the ‘Fuengirola entre Letras’ project
The literary cycle is established as a reference cultural event, with a great reception from the public and the participation of prominent authors of national literature
02-26-2026.- The Fuengirola City Council, through the ‘Fuengirola between Letters’ project, continues to consolidate its commitment to culture and literature as fundamental axes of municipal programming. The cycle has established itself as a reference cultural event, with a great public reception and the participation of prominent authors of national literature, as was made clear today in the press conference offered by the Councilor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, to assess the development of this initiative and report on the news for this year.
During his speech, the councilor highlighted “the success that ‘Fuengirola entre Letras’ is having, both due to the public response and the level of the writers who have already passed through the city.” In this sense, he stressed that “this project has managed to turn Fuengirola into a first-class cultural meeting point, bringing literature and contemporary thought closer to citizens.”
Romero has also pointed out that the initiative “is fulfilling the objective of promoting reading and cultural dialogue, betting on close encounters between authors and readers”, while at the same time he has highly valued the participation of writers of recognized prestige within the national literary scene.
In this context, Romero explained that ‘Fuengirola entre Letras’ was initially born structured in three cycles: the writers’ cycle, the illustrators’ cycle and the oral narration cycle, a base that has allowed the growth and consolidation of the activity. Now, the initiative has recently been expanded with four new cycles, which will enrich and diversify its programming: ‘Fuengirola Pensar el Presente’, focused on essays and philosophy; ‘Fuengirola entre Viñetas’, dedicated to comics; ‘Fuengirola between Sciences’, focused on scientific dissemination; and ‘Fuengirola entre Letras: Nuevas Voces’, a space for writers who publish their first novel in publishers with a quality editorial track record.
Likewise, the programming planned for the month of March has been advanced, which will begin next March 4, at 7:00 p.m., with the participation of the philosopher Ernesto Castro at the Miguel de Cervantes Library. The next day, March 5, also at 7:00 p.m., the author Antonio Lafuente will offer a literary meeting at the City Museum.
The programming will continue on March 11, at 7:00 p.m., with the presence of the writer David Trueba, who will star in a new event at the Miguel de Cervantes Library. There are more appointments for this month of March that will be reported in the coming days.
The City Council has encouraged residents and visitors to participate in these free activities, which reinforce the cultural offer of the municipality and consolidate Fuengirola as a cultural reference in the province.
