The Fuengirola Sports Department increases its offer of Pilates classes with four more groups and 80 new places
Starting February 26, at 8:15 a.m., registration opens to fill the places through the Citizen Card or in person at the Sports Area. Classes will be taught in the Azul Multivalent room, next to the Elola Social Home, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and in the new Elola room, with access from Miguel Bueno street, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
2/17/2026 -The Department of Sports of the Fuengirola City Council, coordinated by councilor Julio Rodríguez, has expanded its offer of Pilates classes with the creation of four new groups that add 80 additional places. With this measure, the City Council continues to reinforce one of the activities most in demand by users of municipal sports facilities.
“We announce a new advance in our municipal sports policy, the result of the planned work and the firm commitment of our mayor, Ana Mula, with sports as a strategic priority for the city,” said Rodríguez.
Registration for these new groups will open on February 26 at 8:15 a.m. and can be done online through the Sports icon on the Citizen Card and on the website https://deportesfuengirola.i2a.es/CronosWeb/Loginas well as in person at the Department of Sports, located in the Elola Sports Complex (Miguel Bueno Street), from 8:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The new groups will be organized as follows: Monday, Wednesday and Friday: two groups at 8:00 and 12:00 in the Multipurpose Blue Room, next to the Elola Social Home. Tuesday and Thursday: two groups at 8:00 and 12:00 in the new Sala Elola, with access from Miguel Bueno Street.
This increase in places is part of the municipal commitment to expand and improve the sports offer. When the mandate began, in the 2023/2024 academic year, there were 368 Pilates places. Currently, 704 have been reached, which represents an increase of 92% in just three years. In this same period, Pilates groups have gone from 25 to 41, both in the morning and afternoon.
In total, the Department of Sports currently manages 235 groups of targeted activities, for children and adults, consolidating a varied, accessible program adapted to the conciliation needs of families.
Rodríguez has highlighted that this growth is accompanied by a constant improvement of municipal sports facilities, as demonstrated by the launch of the new Elola Room. “Our roadmap is clear: increase sports venues, modernize facilities and democratize access to sport. We believe in sport as a tool for health, well-being, social cohesion and equal opportunities,” stated the mayor, underlining that the government team will continue working so that Fuengirola continues to be a reference in municipal sports policy.
