The mayor of Fuengirola and the Minister of Development deliver fifteen new Municipal Support Housing in Los Pacos
They are intended for Fuengirola families with difficulties in accessing this property and one of the properties is a shared apartment for three people over 65 years of age. This action is part of the Municipal Plan for Access to Housing and is co-financed by Next Generation European Funds
2/16/2026 – The mayor of Fuengirola, Ana Mula, and the Minister of Development of the Junta de Andalucía, Rocío Díaz, have today delivered the fifteen new Municipal Support Housing that the City Council has promoted on Aliaria de Los Pacos street. Starting today, fifteen local families with difficulties in affording this property on the free market will have a home on an affordable rental basis, responding to the growing housing need in the city and in the country as a whole.
“I have to tell you that today is a very special day for me. One of the most important since I have been lucky enough to be the mayor of this great city. For all the work done. For what it has entailed and for how much has had to be done to make it a reality. But, above all, for each one of you. For being able to offer you a break in your lives. Along with these fifteen that we are delivering today, the Fuengirola City Council has promoted 82 new homes in the last six years. We are already working on the processing of a new file to build more. I guarantee that this cause, responding to the needs of this part of the city’s population, is and will be one of my main priorities as mayor,” the councilor stated during the event.
In this way, the City Council began the construction of these fifteen apartments in Los Pacos in October 2024. They are intended for Fuengirola families with difficulties in accessing this property on the free market and will operate under a temporary affordable rental regime. One of the properties is a shared apartment for three people over 65 years of age.
The total investment in this municipal initiative amounts to 2,634,992.55 euros, of which 19.31% is provided by the Next Generation European Funds. The work for its construction has been undertaken by the Bilba company.
It is a building with fifteen apartments – seven with one bedroom, seven with two bedrooms, as well as one with three (which is the aforementioned shared apartment) – and 26 parking spaces, all of them located in the basement of the property. It has been erected on a municipal lot, located on Aliaria Street, which has an area of 832 square meters.
In this sense, Mula has highlighted the urban development that the environment where this new development is going to be located is acquiring and has recalled that, in Los Pacos, the City Council has made 26 Municipal Support flats available to young people and families from Fuengirola, just over a year ago.
To these will be added another 24 municipal support apartments in Carvajal, intended for young people under 35 years of age, whose construction is in its final phase. Therefore, in a few months, the City Council will respond to 39 families and young people in the city in need of this fundamental good.
“Because Fuengirola is an honest town, which complies with its tax obligations and which, therefore, allows everyone’s money to end up destined for such laudable purposes as the fact that fifteen families have a decent roof, at an affordable price and can develop their lives in our municipality. Live in peace. Being able to go out to work without the worry of not making it to the end of the month, or, as in the case of the three people in the shared home and they will form a true family, finding themselves alone and all What this means… In other words, and as I said at the beginning, having a home,” Ana Mula concluded.
