The Fuengirola City Council renews the existing square between Sevilla and San Salvador streets
The action will expand the pedestrian spaces and will bury the group of containers that, until now, have been on the surface. It has an investment of around 160,000 euros and is added to other interventions in the environment, such as the remodeling of the nearby Plaza de San José.
3/2/2026 – Fuengirola City Council is renovating the existing plaza between Sevilla and San Salvador streets. Mayor Ana Mula has visited the work, together with the Councilor for Infrastructure, José Sánchez, and the neighborhood councilor, Isaac Vargas, to check its progress and report on this action, whose objective is to redevelop and renovate the appearance of this urban space.
“Improving each space in the city is something we continually work on. We recently revitalized Picasso Square. And closer to here, not long ago we renovated San José Square. Now it is the turn of this small square resulting from the intersection of Sevilla and San Salvador streets, which we are going to completely renovate,” explained the councilor.

In this way, the action consists of increasing the pedestrian surface, burying the containers that are now on the surface, renewing the lighting and all the paving with marble and flamed amber cream-colored paving stones, as well as beautifying it with the creation of a new planter, in Corten steel, that protects the large tree that presides over this space.
Likewise, the project has foreseen the replacement of the current concrete fecal collector with a PVC one of 315 millimeters in diameter, the installation of a new supply pipe for future actions on Sevilla Street, the restitution of the storm drains, as well as the installation of two wooden benches.
This new intervention in the area has meant a fully municipal investment of 160,332.86 euros. The winning company turned out to be Sardalla Española SA, which has committed to carrying out this remodeling action within a period of 60 days.
“We continue working to renew and improve the appearance of all corners of Fuengirola. In this and in all the neighborhoods of the city,” concluded Ana Mula.
