15/1/2026 – The Fuengirola City Council will pay tribute to the couples in the municipality who celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2026. This was announced this morning by the Councilor for Families, Equality and Social Welfare, Cristina Bornao, who has detailed that the recognition will take place on February 11 at the Peace Palace, coinciding with the celebration of the traditional Lovers’ Festival.
To participate in this tribute, couples who reach 50 years of marriage during 2026 must register in advance at the Senior Citizens Area, located on Blanca Paloma Street, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
“Reaching half a century of life together means having traveled a long path full of experiences, sacrifices and overcoming difficulties, a merit that deserves the public recognition of the City Council and the Senior Citizens Area,” said Bornao, who encouraged couples to formalize their registration to be able to take part in this emotional event.
Regarding the requirements, the councilor has explained that both people must be registered in Fuengirola, have the city’s retiree card and prove, through the Family Book, that they will celebrate 50 years of marriage in 2026.
“From the Senior Citizens Area we want to pay them a well-deserved tribute during the Lovers’ Festival, which will be celebrated on February 11 at the Peace Palace, where they will also be given a commemorative gift for their 50 years of marriage,” Bornao concluded, reiterating the invitation to interested couples to come to the Senior Citizens Area on Blanca Paloma Street to request this recognition.
