12/23/2025 – On January 24, the Fuengirola Peace Palace will host the theatrical performance ‘A pound of flesh’, by Agustín Cuzzani, which will be performed on January 24, at 8:00 p.m. This is a function of solidarity, organized by the Teatro Mijas Cultural Association and directed by Manuel España, whose proceeds will go entirely to Fuensocial, an entity that carries out outstanding social work in the municipality, as highlighted today by the Councilor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, and the councilor for Families, Equality and Social Welfare, Cristina Bornao, who have also highlighted both the cultural interest of the proposal and its solidarity dimension.
During his speech, Romero stressed the artistic quality of the work and the importance of continuing to promote committed cultural initiatives. In this sense, he highlighted that ‘A Pound of Flesh’ is a contemporary adaptation that is based on one of the central conflicts of The Merchant of Venice, by William Shakespeare, and that invites reflection through a critical and current perspective, demonstrating that culture can also be a tool for social awareness.
For its part, Bornao has stressed the charitable nature of the event, thanking the involvement of the Teatro Mijas Cultural Association and the sensitivity of the Culture area to collaborate with charitable causes. The councilor has especially highlighted the work carried out by Fuensocial, the entity recipient of the collection, which works continuously to improve the quality of life of people and families in vulnerable situations in Fuengirola.
Tickets have a donation of 10 euros, with a reduced price of 8 euros for Fuensocial members, and can be purchased in advance at Papelería Séneca, at the Fuensocial headquarters and online through the Entradium platform. Likewise, they will be available at the box office one hour before the start of the performance.
Both councilors have encouraged neighbors and visitors to attend this theatrical performance, which combines culture and solidarity, and to collaborate with a cause that directly benefits the social well-being of the municipality.
