12/22/2025 – A total of 396 residents of Fuengirola have managed to join the labor market in 2025 thanks to the actions developed by the Department of Training and Job Creation. This was announced today by the councilor of the area, Isaac Vargas, during the presentation of the annual balance of this municipal department.

Throughout this year, the Municipal Employment Exchange has managed 469 job offers and has added 106 new collaborating companies, thus strengthening the network of job opportunities in the municipality. In addition, 370 people have participated in the different training programs promoted by the department, aimed at improving their employability.

“2025 has been a particularly intense year with very positive results. Our objective has been, once again, to improve the employability of Fuengirola residents and facilitate their access to the labor market through comprehensive work that combines training, guidance, job intermediation and entrepreneurship support,” said Vargas. “All this effort has allowed 288 people to find employment, directly, through this municipal department,” he added.

In terms of training, the mayor has highlighted the implementation of 30 free training programs, designed based on the real demands of the labor market. “These actions have allowed 370 participants to acquire new skills and increase their chances of finding a job,” he explained.

Another of the key services has been Andalucía Orienta, which has served 413 people in Fuengirola during 2025, offering personalized job guidance and support in the job search.

In the area of job creation, Vargas has highlighted the importance of the Active Andalusia Plan, thanks to which 48 people over 45 years of age have been hired, for six months, by the Fuengirola City Council. These contracts have allowed them to acquire professional experience in areas such as gardening, plumbing, painting or administrative tasks.

Likewise, throughout the year, four employment and training programs have been developed that have benefited 60 people, who have been able to train and work for 12 months in municipal offices. Two of these programs have been aimed at those over 45 years of age and the other two at those under 30.

Support for self-employment and entrepreneurship has been another of the fundamental axes of the council in 2025. In this sense, the councilor recalled the launch of the Fuengirola Emprende Center, which began its activity with five new companies and has a CADE office (Andalusian Entrepreneurship Center) to advise and accompany those who wish to start a business project.

Finally, Isaac Vargas has valued “the good results and effective management” carried out this year and has assured that “we will continue working to offer training adapted to the needs of the labor market, accompany people in their search for employment and support those who are committed to entrepreneurship and generating new opportunities in Fuengirola.”
